Preparing for Sunday Liturgy

Have you ever thought about your role in celebrating Mass? Whether you are an ordained or lay person, whether you have a scheduled ministry or are a person in the pew, all of us together are called to full, active, and conscious participation. Along with praying, singing, and other actions, we can participate with our hearts and minds. A good place to start is with the scripture readings. By reading and reflecting on the readings before Mass, you can gain a better understanding of their meaning and application. For prayerful preparation during the week before Sunday Mass, visit The Center for Liturgy

Reflecting on Sunday or Weekday Mass Readings

Reflecting on the spirituality of the scriptures before Mass can have a great impact on hearing the Word proclaimed on Sunday. You will find material on many levels of understanding – from basic overviews to detailed analysis. You might spend two minutes or two hours, alone or with others. It can also be a great resource for discussion with family or friends. Our parish wants all of our parishioners to enter more deeply into the Word and the Eucharist.http://www.usccb.org/nab/
