Faith Formation for Children in Grades K - 5
For the 2026-2027 Catechetical Year we offer the following options to assist you in the religious upbringing of your children:
- Traditional Faith Formation for grades K – 5 (Beginning Monday September 14th) This is a traditional classroom model of learning using the Word of Life curriculum by the Augustine Institute.
- A “Family Faith Night” will be held once a month to bring parents and children together for an evening of experiential formation together as a family.
- Catechesis of the Good Shepherd: Age 3-12 (Beginning Tuesday, September 15th) CGS is a Montessori-based Catholic faith formation program where children can grow in their relationship with God through a deep engagement in Scripture and liturgy. This experience is shared in a place particularly prepared for the religious life of children called the Atrium. This is a “hands-on” environment and is comprised of three levels: Level I (ages 3-6), Level II (ages 6-9), and Level III (ages 9-12).
- Faith Formation Homeschooling Our Faith Formation office is happy to support parents who desire to use a home-based faith formation option for their children. Parents who enroll their child in this option will be given the Word of Life student book and access to the online Word of Life catechist portal. Families using the home-based option are encouraged to attend the monthly Family Faith Nights. Assignments will be turned in regularly to the Faith Formation Director.
- Mary Queen of Apostles Catholic School This is a Pre-K to 8th grade Elementary School in the Diocese of Greensburg. Registration We are moving to an online platform for registration for all our Faith Formation programs. Please scan the QR code on the flyer or use the link on the SMM or MSP parish websites.
Registration for the 2026–2027 Faith Formation year is now open! All parents are encouraged to register their children for one of our faith formation offerings. Each of our programs is designed to help our young disciples grow in their relationship with Jesus by facilitating encounters with the Lord through Scripture, the sacraments, prayer, and community.
Please note that children must be enrolled in a faith formation program (or Catholic school) prior to beginning sacramental preparation.
You can register your child here.
Please contact Tim Ruflin with any questions.
