2025 - 2026 Faith Formation / Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Registration
It is with great joy that we look forward to the start of a new year of Catholic Faith Formation. We are excited to work with your family to raise up the next generation of faithful Christian disciples. In this letter you will find some helpful information for the upcoming year, including information on how to register your child for Faith Formation.
For the 2025-2026 Catechetical Year we offer the following options to assist you in the religious upbringing of your children:
Traditional Faith Formation for grades K – 5 (Beginning Monday, September 15) This is a traditional classroom model of learning using the Word of Life curriculum by the Augustine Institute.
A “Family Faith Night” will be held once a month to bring parents and children together for an evening of experiential formation together as a family. Classes will be on Monday evenings from 6:00pm-7:30pm at Mary Queen of Apostles school at Mount St. Peter Church.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd: Age 3-12 (Beginning Tuesday, September 16) CGS is a Montessori-based Catholic faith formation program where children can grow in their relationship with God through a deep engagement in Scripture and liturgy. This experience is shared in a place particularly prepared for the religious life of children called the Atrium. This is a “hands-on” environment and is comprised of three levels: Level I (ages 3-6), Level II (ages 6-9), and Level III (ages 9-12). Sessions will take place weekly on Tuesday evenings from 6:00pm-7:30pm in the Discipleship Center at Mount St. Peter Church.
Faith Formation Homeschooling Our Faith Formation office is happy to support parents who desire to use a home-based faith formation option for their children. Parents who enroll their child in this option will be given the Word of Life student book and access to the online Word of Life catechist portal. Families using the home-based option are encouraged to attend the monthly Family Faith Nights. Assignments will be turned in regularly to the Faith Formation Director.
Mary Queen of Apostles Catholic School This is a Pre-K to 8th grade Elementary School in the Diocese of Greensburg. Registration We are moving to an online platform for registration for all our Faith Formation programs. Please scan the QR code on the flyer or use the link on the SMM or MSP parish websites.
Thank you so much for making the Faith Formation of your children a priority. We look forward to working with your family this Catechetical year!
God Bless,
